Title: Repton 3 *** (£10)
Written in (compiled) BASIC, and inferior to the BBC version (although, after the initial release, with higher resolution graphics than the original). Still Repton, however, and therefore great fun. Originally published by Superior Software.

Title: Repton 4: Ego *** (£25)
Not really a Repton game, as such, and not really particularly good. Very average puzzle solving game with a cliched jigsaw element, and no original ideas.

Title: Rick Dangerous * (£17)
Bad port of an ancient and outdated game. Relies on you continually dying and then restarting in order to learn where fatal objects are, has awful animation, terrible graphics, tiny sprites, pathetic sound and no gameplay whatsoever. Avoid like the plague.

Title: Rise in Crime ***
Bit antiquated - only buy if you're capable of rewriting the startup routines to directly run the code without reconfiguring your machine (this is really easy, by the way!). Competent text adventure with the occasional picture, but probably only available second hand now.

Title: Robocatch *** (£8)
Simple space invaders-type shoot'em'up game with the focus on simple fun. Aimed at children and therefore a bit simple, really, for older players. Pleasant enough, I suppose. Generation Design offer a free 14-day trial of their games before purchase.
